City secure historic treble with 3-0 FA Cup win over Man Utd
Haaland misses penalty as Rashford shines in cup final
Pep Guardiola's side make it three trophies for the season
Manchester City won the FA Cup for the second consecutive season with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Manchester United at Wembley. Bruno Fernandes lifted the trophy for the Red Devils, but it was Pep Guardiola's side who dominated the proceedings from start to finish.
City took the lead in the 20th minute when Kevin De Bruyne found Phil Foden in the box with a perfectly weighted pass. Foden took a touch and fired a low shot past David de Gea into the bottom corner.
United had a chance to equalize just before half-time when Marcus Rashford was brought down by Aymeric Laporte in the area. However, Haaland stepped up to take the penalty and blazed it over the bar.
City doubled their lead in the 59th minute when De Bruyne scored a stunning goal. The Belgian received the ball on the left wing and cut inside before unleashing a powerful shot that flew into the top corner.
Rashford pulled one back for United in the 72nd minute with a brilliant solo goal. The England international picked up the ball on the left wing and dribbled past three City defenders before firing a low shot past Ederson.
However, City restored their two-goal lead just three minutes later when Riyad Mahrez scored from close range. The Algerian forward was on hand to tap home De Bruyne's cross from the right wing.
City continued to dominate the game in the closing stages and could have added to their lead on several occasions. However, they were happy to settle for a 3-0 victory and secure the FA Cup for the second year in a row.
